Foundation Health and Safety
Who's it for?
Health and Safety Awareness is an essential feature of the Training and Development of all
an employer's staff. As an employer you have a responsibility for the welfare and safety of
your employees. Your employees too have a responsibility both for themselves and for their
colleagues, under Health and Safety Legislation. This training course is designed to address
all of these issues. The qualification can be tailored to business and individual needs to
make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose.

Manual Handling
Who's it for?
Principles of Manual Handling is aimed at those who carry out manual handling activities at
work and introduces students to the hazards of manual handling, the risks involved and
controls available and what to expect from a manual handling assessment. Successful
completion will prepare students to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute
to the development of safer methods and tasks, in co-operation with their managers and
supervisors.
Course content includes:
· The process of manual handling in the workplace.
· The human spine and associated anatomy.
· Manual handling injuries and the activities which cause them.

COSHH Awareness
Who's it for?
Within world-wide industry there exists a wide array of harmful substances weather in
solid, liquid or gas form which can cause serious repercussions for any victims and
companies in the event of inhalation, ingestion and absorption to the human body. We at
Onelife have very carefully put together an awareness package of training which has a
"bolt-on capability" to suit your needs.
Objectives:

Fire Marshall
Who's it for?
This course is for staff with a designated responsibility as fire warden or fire marshal, and
provides the skills and confidence that will allow them to carry out their duties relating to
fire safety and emergency procedures. The number of fire wardens that your organisation
requires depends on the building design and use. In addition you should train extra staff
to cover for holidays and illness.
Course content includes:

safety failures and is suitable for people with responsibility for investigating at supervisory

First Aid at Work
Who's it for?
This practical course will equip participants to confidently administer first aid safely, promptly
and effectively. It is approved by the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and is
recommended for all organisations whose risk assessment determines that First Aiders are
required.
Course content:
· Dealing with blood loss and shock
· Caring for an unconscious casualty
· Performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
· Burns and scalds
· Disorders of the airway
· Record-keeping and accident reporting

First Aid at Work Refresher
Who's it for?
This course is designed for those who have a current ‘First Aid at Work’ certificate and want
to refresh their skills and update their knowledge before the end of the 3 year period or
where the certificate has run out for a maximum of 28 days.
Course content:
· Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
· Poisoning
· Bone injuries
· Accident reporting and how to manage an incident
How long?
Two days

Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person
Who's it for?
Staff who need a basic grounding in first aid and acting as their company's appointed person
and when assisting a qualified first aider. Normally for businesses with a low risk working
environment and less than 50 people.
Course content includes:
· Dealing with blood loss and shock
· Burns and scalds
· Heart attack
· Performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults
· Strokes and seizures
How long?
One day, normally 0900-1600
Qualification:
Appointed person certificate valid for 3 years.
